Group of scuba divers explores sunken ship by diving through the ice on Lake Winnipesaukee, just off Glendale Docks in Gilford, New Hampshire. They made their opening using chain saws, and the removed blocks of ice are seen beside the hole. They were putting up to 3 divers down at a time, and each diver, in a dry suit, was tethered and had a surface attendant. The tether ropes were secured to bolts in the ice. THe divers had to be literally slid into the water, and pulled back out of the water, as it was too slippery for almost anyone to walk on. Temperatures this day were in the high 20's F. The wreckage is "Lady of the Lake," side wheel paddle wheeler which sunk in 1895 during an attempt to tow it further out into the lake to sink it. It is in 30 feet of water. www.divewinnipesaukee.com Check out my Channel for MANY horse vids!
