Chanced upon some gul fishes at the surface towards the end of a dive. They were darting back and forth in a feeding frenzy!

Wrasse are known to be a daring bunch. This one was checking me out. Close up!

This shot was a winner in BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008. The fishes were in a feeding frenzy near the surface as some tourists were throwing some bread into the water. This fellow just happen to swim by at the right moment!

This shot was done in Tioman Island, east Malaysia. The turtle was very friendly. It swam with the divers for almost 20 mins.

The visibility wasn’t very good on this dive. So I got as close as I could to this school of fish and the bad visibility resulted in this some what mysterious looking shot. – Sipadan Island, Borneo.

It’s always nice to watch butterfly fishes. This dive site had more butterfly fishes than I could ever ask for! Bora Bora, French Polynesia.

The French Polynesian Islands are known for their sharks. It’s nice to see these beautiful predators free and protected in these waters. This small reef shark was taking shelter in the shallows as I snorkelled past. Bora Bora, French Polynesia.

Emperor shrimps are commonly found on a host sea cucumber. Though common, they are among the pettiest shrimps around with their brilliant colors. This little is no more than 1 cm across. Manado, Sulawesi.

On a night dive, I chanced upon this brave little puffer fish sleeping out in the open. Not a wise thing to do in a place like Lembeh Straits.

Mantis shrimps are a weird creature to watch. Almost alien like with its big compound eyes. I approached slowly as they are famous for their powerful ‘punches’ - Lembah Straits, north Sulawesi

Cling fish live in their host feather star. They are not difficult to find but shooting them however proves to be a challenge. Always shy, they would often hide among the thin arms of the feather star.

Lizard fish would often still motionless on the see floor, relaying on their camouflage. But to get this close requires a lot of patience.

I looked up and saw this turtle swimming to the surface foe a breath. I caught up with it and frame it directly against a beautiful sun burst.
