Ilan Ben Tov
I've been a scuba diver since 1988, but it was years ago in a diving vacation in the Maldives islands that I decided to become an underwater photographer, a gray reef shark joined us in a safety stop in one of the dives.
Since no one believed me that it happened, I decided to start practicing underwater photography in order to share my underwater adventures.
I started with a simple Sea&Sea MX-5 film camera via an Olympus c3020z and c5050z digital cameras to my current Nikon D80 DSLR.
I'm doing most of my diving in the Red Sea especially in Eilat, Eilat is located in the northern part of the gulf of Akaba and has excellent diving conditions. I spend dive vacations in the Egyptian part of the Red Sea and from time to time I visit some exotic places.
These days, I am not often found without a camera especially not underwater, and I can certainly say that underwater photography is my major hobby.
