The use of rubber and plastic in the same fin blade has allowed the manufacturing of composite fins. This ability to combine a soft rubber with a stiff plastic creates a fin that is flexible, easy to kick, yet providing ample power to move through the water. Plastic is lighter weight then rubber, so the fin is not only more efficient, it is also lighter requiring less effort to obtain the same thrust allowing the diver to fin for longer periods without any stress. XS Scuba's Cortez Fins use these technologies, plus incorporating a non-corrosive plastic quick release buckle system to make donning and doffing a breeze. Includes with the fins is a handy mesh fin bag for ease of transporting.
