Both hard and soft urethanes are used for a higher level of shock resistance than ever before.Hard urethane on the outside shuts out external shock. A soft urethane inner protector that surrounds the module has a totally new shape that expands and contract as pressure is applied, which absorbs impact and keeps it from reachingthe module. The protector is also designed to cover the face as much as possiblewithout interfering with reliability to protect it against damage. Alpha GEL¦ is implanted at the 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock for inner protection. The shock resistance of the protector and the outstanding resilience of the Alpha GEL¦ combine to create a totally new type of shock resistant construction. The buckle is secured on both sides by screws to minimize the chance of detachment when the watch is dropped. The surfaces of the large buttons are knurled to minimize slipping and to improve user operation. The screw fastenings of the band minimize gaps to resist mud and dirt. A Tough Solar power system provides plenty of power to power the watch's functions, without having to worry about outages. All this packed in the largestcase design in G-Shock history for a robust look of strength and power. This tough solar powered, shock resistant, and water resistant to 660' (200 meters) watch is packed with unique features. Watch has full auto EL backlight with afterglow making it one great watch in low light conditions, world time with 31 time zones (48 cities + UTC), city code display, and daylight saving on/off function. Four daily alarms and one snooze alarm which is great when you travel and need to get up on time, hourly time signal and a 1/100 second stopwatch with a measuring capacity of 23:59'59.99". Stopwatch has a measuring mode for elapsed time, split time, and 1st and 2nd place times. A countdown timer with measuring unit of one second and an input range of one minute to 24 hours (1-minute increments and 1-hour increments). Watch is equipped with full auto-calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2099), 12/24 hour formats, and a button operated tone on/off function, and watch is accurate +/- 15 seconds per month. The storage battery is a solar rechargeable battery. There is a battery power indicator, a power saving function, and an approximate battery life of a whopping 11 months on a full charge without further exposure to light. Watch comes with a black resin band with black digital face.
