While the Falkland Islands may be surrounded by water the truth is there is not much diving done here, one of the reasons for this is that there aren't any real dive operators. The reason for the lack of dive operators are the diving conditions which are present for the most part. Do not be expecting good visibility, warm water or negotiable depths. Due to the lack of variety in airlines that travel to the Falkland Islands the price of bringing scuba gear deters many.

Water depths along the coast of the Falkland Islands are generally quite shallow and rocky, combined with the low visibility and lack of marine life makes for somewhat boring diving. The best chances for diving here is finding wrecks.

The only real bright side to diving at the Falkland Islands is that due to the lack of diving possibilities very little exploring has been done in the waters and you could possibly find a few virgin wrecks about.Read moreRead more
