The coral formations and huge variety of marine life at Turneffe Island make it a popular destination for divers. Turneffe is the largest of the atoll reefs and is the most accessible. There are places at Turneffe for every diver's proficiency level. Less experienced divers can dive the shallow waters along the western side of the reef, while experienced divers will be drawn to the challenging current and walls of the eastern side of Turneffe Reef. The third atoll reef is Glovers, which has a marine reserve, and it is an important spawning ground for grouper fish.
