Belize is a great diving location. The Central American country offers a wide range of opportunities for scuba divers. It is the site of the second largest barrier reef in the world. The reef extends over 185 miles along the coast. It is easily accessible by boat, especially at Ambergris Caye, where the reef is less than a mile offshore. Ambergris is one of many cayes, mangrove covered islands, which lie in the shallow waters between the barrier reef and the mainland.
