Cozumel is a popular tourist destination year round because of the perfect climate, abundant marine life, and a large variety of activities both on land and water. Divers enjoy scuba diving in Cozumel, because it offers unique sites and experiences with professional guidance from local certified divers.
Cozumel is famous as the home of the second largest barrier reef in the world measuring approximately 175 miles and stretching between the Gulf of Mexico and Honduras. The water is usually in the 80's in the summer and during the rainy season, it will drop down to 70's. You will need diving suits, however, to maintain your body temperature especially when you are planning a few hours diving trips.
The Cozumel Reef National Marine Park is where most divers head to explore the world famous sites and marine life; visibility is extremely clear for 100 to almost 150 feet at times depending on the season. The rainy season usually will disturb the clarity of the water.
