Description:
This popular scuba dive revolves around amazing lava structures and white sandy plateaus, the dive is located at the small village "Charco del Palo" also known as Paloma.Large lava cliff faces extend down into the water to depths in excess of 40 meters.Access to the scuba dive is gained via a small lagoon which can be reached by following the sand pathway on the cliff.Once you enter the lagoon in 5 meters of water you have two choices on which dive you'd prefer, there is a deep dive and a shallow dive. The deep dive is reached by heading over some black pepples, this area is home to lots of different fish. You then reach a drop off to a depth of around 15 meters, after the drop off you will come across some large white sandy plateaus as well as some ledges and other rock features. The other option is after you've entered the lagoon, head South in the direction of a large rock which can easily be spotted due to the breakwater upon it.The rocks here have some fascinating shapes and structures. There are areas with some sponges as well as urchins upon the rocks and has some scattered sea weed. There are also a few small caverns which are home to some small marine creatures.Be advised that this area is a popular nudist town and such should be expectedSubmitted by: admin on 2008-08-22 | Last Modified: 2009-05-27 | Views: 189 | Dive Site ID: 63597
