Saint Lucia Scuba Diving

There are a number of excellent dive sites in the waters surrounding St Lucia, and they offer a range of experiences including reef, wall and wreck diving. The main areas in which to dive in St Lucia tend to be focussed in the Anse La Raye, Anste Chastanet regions, whilst near Saufriere Bay, there is the opportunity to dive the Keyhole Pinnacles. This spectacular dive site consists of four pinnacles which rise almost to the surface, and are known as the Keyhole Pinnacles due to a cut out through the cliff above the dive site. At all of these dive sites, the amount of corals and sponges on show is incredible, huge barrel sponges, lace coral and large gorgonians as well as black coral trees can all be seen. The marine life on offer is diverse, with stingrays, nurse sharks, turtles and seahorses all being regularly sighted in the waters surrounding St Lucia.

The weather in St Lucia is at its coolest and driest between the months of December through to May, when temperatures will range between 70 - 80 degrees F (23 - 30 Degrees C) during the day. During the hot period, between June to August, you can expect temperatures to reach up to 90 degrees F (37 degrees C) during the day. The water temperature in St Lucia tends to average around 80 degrees F, with the visibility being between 50 - 100 feet.
