St Lucia is located amongst the Caribbean Windward Islands, 21 miles south of Martinique and 90 miles northwest of Barbados. St Lucia is a mountainous country, volcanic in its origin, and the stunning nature of it's above water geography is equally matched by it's stunning underwater environment, which offers all scuba divers a range of experiences from wrecks through to pinnacles, and from shallow reefs through to abundant coral gardens.
The diving in St Lucia benefits from a large variety of marine and coral life, and on most dives you are likely to encounter a good variety of both. Large barrel sponges, lace coral and huge gorgonians as well as a number of black coral trees all inhabit the waters surrounding St Lucia. This variety is matched by the marine life, with Stingrays, Nurse Sharks, seahorses and turtles all being sighted regularly across the various dive sites.
