The State of Grenada, which includes Carriacou and Petite Martinque, undoubtedly offer some of the best diving in the Caribbean, with some excellent corals, wrecks and even an underwater volcano.
Grenada has a wide variety of dive sites, but it is particularly well known for its multitude of good wreck dives, especially the Bianca C, which is regularly rated amongst the best wreck dives in the world. Carriacou, which translates as "Island of Reefs" is more famous for its excellent coral gardens and formations. In particular the numerous varieties of soft coral, which are abundant in the surrounding waters. Both Grenada and Carriacou have good wall diving, and there are good amounts of marine life to be found at both. Giant morays, lobsters, turtles and a variety of sharks are all inhabitants of these reefs surrounding these islands.
