Curacao is the largest of the group of islands known collectively as the Netherlands Antilles, and measures approximately 180 square miles (472 square kilometres). The north coast of the island is made up predominantly of weather beaten limestone cliff faces, which are the result of the constant northeast trade winds. The south coast of Curacao is more sheltered, and tends to be characterised a series of small bays and inlets.
Whilst Curacao may not be as popular a destination as some of the other islands within the Caribbean, there are certainly some areas to dive in. In total, Curacao has over 60 separate dive sites from which to choose, most of which seem to be situated on the west coast of the island.
