Description:

The ideal beginner dive site, Japanese Gardens is a shallow dive which descends down to only 15 meters of depth. The currents are generally very friendly towards the novice. Marine life includes a variety of different coral types, sponges and other growth- not to mention the various fish life. It is a popular beginner dive site and you can easily see why.

4 out of 5 stars Dive Training

Excellent place to start diving. Easy and beautiful, you are so excited by the colours that it stays as a very nice souvenir!
You'll see Christmas tree worms, Butterfly fish...

5 out of 5 stars If I could be anywhere now it would be there

Japanese Garden's is a Coral covered sea bed just off the north western tip of Koh Tao. Accesed by boat, it is an extremly popular site used by nearly all the dive centres on Koh Tao, it therefore can get quiet busy and you will se other divers in the water.
The site is used for the confined open water sections of dive couses by some of the centres due to the calm nature of the waters, good visablity and a sandy gradual sloping beach which is ideal for skills as you can easily stand up and be 'head above water' quickly if needed.

The coral reefs and abundant marine life give a great indication to any new diver, what they are about to enter into.

Locally this site isn't rated as the best of the best, however i've dived two other sites close to this one, and I found Japanese Garden's a beautiful, calming site, where I could relax and dive comfortably without worrying about my depth or surrounding.

If all you want is a peaceful swim around dive, then this should be top of your list
