Anilao and Batangas Scuba Diving

The majority of the scuba diving in Anilao tends to focus around the coastal dive sites of the Calumpan Peninsula, and the two nearby islands of Caban and Maciraban. The waters surrounding Anilao enjoy a tropical climate, averaging a warm 28 degrees. A macro-photography heaven, the waters of Anilao are home to an incredible variety of marine life, including various species of nudibranchs that only exist in this area. The visibility in the region various considerably depending on the time of year as well as the tide, and can range anywhere between 3 metres to upwards of 20 metres.

There are a number of good dive sites in Anilao including the famous Cathedral dive site, an artificial reef which was established by the former Philippine President Fidel Ramos, which is now used by many local dive centres as a check dive site. Other dive sites in Anilao include Sombrero Island, Mapating, Sepok Wall, Lighthouse, Caban Cave and the Hot Springs.

As one would imagine, with over 40 separate dive sites in Anilao on offer, the region provides sufficient variation to cater for scuba divers of all tastes and levels of experience.
