Ari Atoll, at over 50 miles long and 20 miles wide is one of the largest and most populated atolls in the Maldives, and its scuba diving is widely acknowledged as being amongst the best in the region. Rich in marine life, whale sharks, manta rays and other pelagic fish are all regularly sighted at the large number of dive sites in Ari Atoll.

The scuba diving in Ari Atoll differs slightly from that found elsewhere in the Maldives, predominantly because the Atoll here does not feature long stretches of barrier reef. Instead, the Ari Atoll is renowned for its large number of exceptional 'thila' dive sites, where large coral structures act as magnets for the local marine life. A unique form of diving, these thila's offer some of the best opportunities to encounter the vast array of marine life which inhabit the dive sites of the Maldives.
