Recent years have seen the emergence of Marsa Alam as one of the Red Seas main scuba diving destinations. By offering easier access to the superb dive sites in the Southern Red Sea, the scuba diving in Marsa Alam has grown in popularity amongst divers wishing to sample the dive sites at Elphinstone Reef, The Brothers and Daedulus Reef.
The main attraction of the scuba diving in Marsa Alam are the superb coral reefs reefs and prolific marine life which can be found throughout the regions dive sites. These reefs are home to an unparalleled variety of both hard and soft coral, as well as a huge number of resident reef fish. With a large number of dive sites in Marsa Alam also being in 'open water' locations, they also offer a good opportunity for large pelagic sightings including a wide variety of sharks.
