Divetime.com aims to provide scuba divers around the world with all the necessary information needed to make an educated decision on where they should plan their next diving experience.

One of the ways we aim to do this is by creating an extensive list of scuba diving centers in each country, and allowing users to rate these dive shops. A diver can rate a dive center based on a few simple, yet vital aspects: Professionalism, Customer Service, Range of Services, Fun Factor and then the Overall Rating of the dive center. These ratings range from 1 to 5 stars with 5 stars being the highest possible evaluation for any given dive shop. This in turn will advise other divers of which dive centers to avoid and which ones to try.

Users are encouraged to provide the best information they can, essentially helping all other divers make the right choice when it comes to picking a scuba diving center.
For the dive shop owners themselves, our database is a great way for you to show divers just how great your diving operation is! The listing of dive centers is absolutely free and only takes a minute. If you notice that your dive center is already listed on the site, you are encouraged to claim the listing, after which you will have the ability to keep your dive shops profile up to date and add photos, all of this adding to the quality appearance of your dive center. You are also encouraged to add local dive sites to the dive site database and add dive site reviews to your local dives. This will allow users to determine what the conditions are like, as well as the different marine life they can expect throughout the different seasons.

The dive centers are linked to the dive site database, so users whom are browsing through diving locations can follow the link on the page which allows them to view all the dive centers listed in that specific area. This is perfect for finding a local dive shop nearby or planning a diving holiday and checking up on the reputation of the local dive shops in that location.

There are a few different ways in which the dive shop database can be utilized. A user can be searching through his local dive sites in the dive site database and decide he would like to try a different dive center in his area, from here he can follow the listed dive centers on the right hand side of the page, and find the highest rated dive center in his town. Another way for users to come across dive centers is for the user to be browsing through potential diving locations in the dive site database looking for top rated dive sites, and after finding an interesting looking location, from here he can continue on the same way as above in proceeding to the dive centers in that area, allowing him or her to decide whether they would be interested in diving that location. The final way in which users can decide on a diving location is through browsing the dive shop database directly and from there finding some of the top rated dive centers, and then working to the dive site database to see the kind of quality dive sites that dive center could possibly cater to.

With over 8000 dive centers listed in our database we feel as though we are well on track to creating one of the world's largest and most effective dive shop databases and with a staggering 12 000+ dive sites, we also feel as though we are on track to creating the best combined dive site-dive shop database.
