Worlds Best Drift Diving Locations
South Manila

Tropical Boracay lies 200miles south of Manila in the western region of the Philippines. Its inland location, the Tabon Strait, offers excellent drift channel diving. Currents can reach up to 7knots with depth ranging from 60 to 115ft and excellent visibility of 65ft. The ridge also sports caves where White tip Reef Sharks reside. Garden eels, strongrays, shield groupers, batfish and sweetlips also abound.
Micronesia - Palau

Ngerchong Outside is a long strait drift dive that starts about 10 to 12m below the surface sloping down at 60 degrees. Visibility ranges between 10 and 35 meters. Divers can indulge in a ninety minute drift spotting patches of coral and napping reef sharks. Sights include Gorgonian sea fans (Sea fan), reef fish, and reef sharks and occasionally a whale shark cruises along the wall.

Lake St Clair, part of the Great Lakes family was found on the feast date of Sainte Claire of Assisi by French explorers in 1679. This shallow lake is fed from Huron and stretches for 40 miles with a current flow of 90 million gallons a minute. At Port Huron, drift diving currents reach 2-3 knots with exciting wrecks, marine life and recoverable objects along the way.
South FloridaDrift diving along the reefs is extremely popular and plentiful in this region. The following list provides all the locations for each of the dive spots in the area:
Jupiter Ledges Drift lies 3miles off Jupiter inlet. The dive is 64 to 75ft deep. Half Mile Drift is 85-100 foot deep, 3 miles North of Lake Worth Inlet. It runs from North to South the reef covers Ziegler’s Zoo, Condos and Calloway's Ledge.
Flower Gardens Drift, 47'-53' foot deep is 4 miles south of the Lake Worth Inlet with "East West Ledge" in the S to "Beakers S" in the N. Boynoton Ledge lies 3 miles South of Boynton Inlet and is 47'-64' deep.
Delray Snapper Drift, 43'-65' deep with a high western ledge is situated 5 miles south of Boynton Inlet. Boca North end drift lies 2 miles North of Boca, its 45'-65' deep with a large sand chute in the middle.
Skips Reef lies 5 miles N of Boca Inlet, its very close to the inlet itself, 32'-40' deep. Separated Rocks Drift is 1 mile S of Boca Inlet 33'-44' deep is a shallow reef patch popular for newcomers and students.
Ray's Drift named for environmentalist Ray McAllister is 2 miles N of Hillsboro Inlet 40'-65' deep. Pompano ledge moorings lies 2 miles S of Hillsboro Inlet, 12'-30’ – very popular with the boaters. 2miles further is the Hall of fame moorings, teeming with tropical fish and lies 4 miles S of Hillsboro Inlet, 14'-30'.
Caves and Ledges Moorings, a patch reef with tropical fish lies 2 miles N of Ft. Lauderdale Inlet, 18'-32'. deep.
Paradise to Pocket Drift, 2 miles S of Ft. Lauderdale Inlet stretches half a mile with a depth of 45'-65'.
Barracuda Reef Moorings is 1 mile S of Ft. Lauderdale Inlet and is 33'-40' deep. Gap Ledge to Sharpeto Drift lies 3 miles S of Ft. Lauderdale Inlet and Rays to Oval Drift is 7 miles S of Ft. Lauderdale Inlet.

Divers enjoy thrilling drift diving in Menai Straits during NEAP tides. The middle of the channel allows for a 0.5 mile drift and a return with the flood tide.
The Strait itself is a narrow band of water separating Ynys Mon, the Isle of Anglesey, from the Northern Wales mainland. Here the oceans colour is a deep, grass green due to high turbidity from minute particles and plankton suspended in the fast-flowing water This affecting viz a great deal which ranges from zero to 6m.
The habitat contains a range of marine life including shore crabs, Gliding butterfish, dahlia, plumose anemones, starfish and Small scorpionfish. A colourful explosion of Sponges, Sagartia anemones, hydroids and Orange sponges can be seen deeper in on the dive.
